Her Excellency Dr. Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu last Saturday 7th May, flagged off the distribution of a mobility cart in Kalgo to 10 disabled persons by the Zahrau Wali Foundation.
This distribution was also witnessed by Chairman Kalgo LGA, Hon. Shamsu Faruk, Former Commissioner of Women Affairs, Hon. Hajiya Tsahara Bawa, State APC Women Leader, Haj Aisha Abubakar Gunabi, APC Chairman Kalgo LGA, and Alh Sani Musa Magori among other stakeholders.
Her Excellency Dr. Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu who spoke at the occasion acknowledged the testimonies by speakers of the developmental projects by H.E Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu in Kalgo.
She commended the effort by Hon Zahrau describing it as a thoughtful and humanitarian calling on all to emulate her.
She added that wheelchairs are very important, especially in the case of people living with the effects of polio. She reminded the gathering of the importance of immunization and other vaccines which are provided free of charge by the government.
She described Hon. Zaha has demonstrated the capacity to represent women at the assembly. She however appealed to the stakeholders to support Hon Zahrau and ensure female representation is achieved in the 2023 elections restating her confidence in her to perform within the provisions of the religion and in line with our values.
Earlier in her Remarks, Hon Zahrau described the First lady as a leader who is concerned about the wellbeing of the people with many humanitarian achievements to her credit.
Hon Zahrau therefore, her donation today is in line with the mentorship she received from Her Excellency. She hoped the donation will help to ease the burden of the physically disabled as they form an important group of members of the society who can also contribute to its development under the right conditions.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Kalgo Local Government, Hon Shamsuddeen Faruk highlighted the developmental projects of H.E Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu in Kalgo Local Government including township roads, drainages, and bridges. He eulogized the Governor for prioritizing the people of Kalgo and personally ensuring that they benefit from his Government.
The Kebbi State APC Women Leader, Hajiya Aisha Gunabi called on the Men and Women of Kalgo to throw their weight behind Hon Zahra. She appealed to the men of Kalgo to give women a try and to note that it is not a hostile approach but rather a partnership to have women representing women and so develop society.
