Governor Simon Bako Lalong Hosts The Association Of National Accountants Of Nigeria To A Dinner

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Rt Hon (Dr) Simon Bako Lalong KSGG has hosted The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) a Dinner at the Banquet Hall Government House Little Rayfield Jos.

The Governor was represented at the Dinner by the Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS) Prof Danladi Abok Atu, alongside other members of the state’s executive council including The Head of Civil Service of the State, the Accountant General of the State, commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, and other Top Government functionaries.

In a welcome address, the SGS said ANAN is synonymous with Plateau State which is why the Governor is delighted to host the prestigious body for dinner being aware of the body’s contribution to the growth and development of the State.

Prof Atu also stated that with its decades of existence, Plateau State is Honoured to host ANAN which has metamorphosed from a college to a University that is to show that ANAN has made Plateau Its home, therefore assuring the association of the Government’s commitment to providing a safe and conducive environment for it to thrive.

In a remark by the 1st Vice President of ANAN Dr. James Ekerare Neminebor, FCNA who was representing the President of the Association Prof. Benjamin Chuka Osisioma, FCNA said ANAN is an accepted Son of Plateau State and by virtue, every member of the Association is a Citizen of the State, he went further to mention that Plateau is the only state in the world to house an Accountancy village and the association is appreciative of the Hospitality they have enjoyed from the State.

The Commissioner of Finance through the Accountant General of the State Mr. Cyril Tsenyil said the ministry of Finance and the office of the Accountant General are the sole beneficiaries of the training provided by ANAN which has helped in the management and utilization of State resources.

The accountant General further thanked ANAN for the level of training it has been giving to public servants which have over the years led to a high reduction of fraudulent activities in the public service. The Accountant General then assured ANAN of continued collaboration with the State Government to train civil servants in Accounting for accountability in the public sector.
