Governor Lalong Attends Fundraising Mass Of The Holy Family Pastoral Area Kwang

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Rt Hon (Dr) Simon Bako Lalong KSGG attended the fundraising mass of the Holy Family Pastoral Area, Kwang for the completion of their church auditorium.

The Governor was represented at the fundraising mass by the Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS) Prof Danladi Abok Atu who was accompanied by the commissioner of works Hon Pam Botmang and the Executive Chairman of Jos-North Local Government Hon Shehu Bala Usman.

Speaking on behalf of the Governor, Prof Atu said the Church is collaborative with the Government toward providing services to humanity as he said they work hand in hand. He said the church serves as a bridge between unity and integration and as such charges Christians to unify the State and Nation at large.

Speaking further Prof. Atu said as a government they are aware of the Contributions of the Church and other religious organizations towards the development of the State, especially through education which many citizens of the State have benefited immensely from, owing to that fact he said the Government has directed that mechanisms be set in place to return mission schools to the church who were the original owners that way he said the teachings of morality and humanity will be inculcated in the pupils.

The Governor through the SGS then called on the Church, particularly those in politics, being in a pre-election era to play politics with the fear of God and prayed that God provides wisdom as the next set of leaders will be voted into power.

The SGS then donated a sum of two (2) million naira on behalf of the Governor and the executive council of the State towards the completion of the Church auditorium as he said it is a blessing to contribute towards the building of the church.

The Parish Priest Fr Blaise Agwom appreciated Governor Lalong for gracing their invitation and donating towards the building of the Church, describing Governor Lalong as a defender of the faith.

He also appreciated the chairman of Jos north for always attending the activities of the church and praying that God continues to use him as a bridge between the Christian and Muslim communities in the State.
