Governor Badaru urges Muslims to imbibe lessons of Ramadan

Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has heartily felicitated the Muslim Ummah on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr while urging them to pray for the state and the country, strengthen the bond of friendship and peace and unity across the state.

Governor Badaru also calls on the Muslims to imbibe the core values and lessons of Ramadan including piety, generosity, peaceful coexistence, and justice to guide their relations with fellow human beings for the progress of the society.

A statement by the Jigawa State Government said the Governor congratulated Muslims at the end of the Holy month of Ramadan while urging Muslims in the State to observe the festival peacefully.

Governor Badaru noted that the successful one-month-long Ramadan Fasting had ushered in Eid-el-Fitr celebrations and called for the cooperation of all towards finding a lasting solution to the myriad of challenges facing the country, most especially as the 2023 Elections approach.

“Let us embrace the spirit of love, tolerance, forgiveness, and brotherhood preached by Islam and other religions. Having observed strictly the injunctions of Almighty Allah by self-denial through fasting and prayers and by offering Zakat to the less privileged, the lessons learned during the holy month should not be lost,” Governor Badaru said.

While urging the good people of the State to sustain their prayers for peace and stability in Jigawa State, the Governor said “We extend our sincere happiness to Almighty Allah that has made it possible for us to see this important day and pray that he continues to grant favor to our dear State”.

While we approach the 2023 Elections I urge politicians in the state to conduct themselves peacefully during primaries and general elections”, Governor Badaru added.

The Governor also expressed optimism that through the challenges of governance had been huge, his administration had remained focused on fulfilling its promises to the people.

Finally, Governor Badaru also calls on the good people of the state to continue praying for the state and the country at large.
